WHAT IS THE FAMILY DIVISION?
New Hampshire Family Law deals with family related matters and domestic relations. The Legislature has established a Family Court Division as part of the Circuit Court system. The local District Courts are now part of the Circuit Court system.

WHERE WILL MY CASE BE FILED?
Where will you file a divorce action? What Court has jurisdiction over child support matters?
The answer depends on the type of matter that you need to address, and it depends on where you reside. New Hampshire has established Family Division locations in many Counties. If you live in Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack, Rockingham, Sullivan or Northern Hillsborough Counties, you will file your case at the Family Division located in those counties. For example: Rockingham County has Family Division Court in Brentwood, Derry, Portsmouth and Salem.
